  1. After a long hiatus from computer gaming, I (ofcourse) also have picked up playing World of Warships again. And what a different beast it is, since I played it last. I have slowly begun to share my time equally among WoT and WoWS, trying to get back in the groove. One thing I have really enjoyed upon my return is the Scenario battles, hence I had to get the various tier VI and tier VII ships, and among those, I picked up the russian tier VI cruiser, the Budyonny. And what a delightfull beast it is, even though it is a "paper ship" - I.E, never got past the initial design phase. Developing the plans and constructing the ship got postponed indefinitely, due to the Nazi-Germany invasion, and the plans was archived in the USSR naval archives. After the war, the design and buildphase was not restarted, probably due to a combination of economy, obsolete design choices relating to the post-WWII situation , and ofcourse change of strategic and tactical considerations. But based on the rediscovered designpapers, Lesta Studios and Wargaming has enabled us to take the Budyonny out for a cruise, and what a blast it is IMHO - at least this battle :). And thats where my hate/love relationship with RNG comes into the picture.... I have a special flag for my ships in WoWS, that I got from the Dev team in St Petersburg, which I never have used before - The "Valuable Player" flag which shouldnt give any perks, unlike some of the other "Special" category flags. The flag is a white Four-leaf Clover on a blue background. My new conspiracy theory is that this flag changes RNGesus in my favour ! I mean, it does depict the lucky symbol of a Four-leaf Clover after all...😄 I manage to complete the "For the Motherland" collection, so I could mount two flags on my Russian ships, so ofcourse it should be hoisted on the Budyonny - I got it from a russian developer after all 😄 Into battle, and it didn't look so good after the first 5 minutes, as I had taken a salvo from a battleship, reducing my HP down to about one sixth of the 30800 HP a fully upgraded Budyonny has in the game. But fortunately in the Raptor Rescue scenario battle, it is possible to "repair", by staying in close proximity of one of the ships you are tasked to protect. So over the course of the battle, I got the HP built up again, enough to survive the scenario battle, with more than half of the possible HP for the Budyonny cruiser. And along the way, I managed to sink 10 enemy ships, including getting a staggering 33 Citadel hits in on those enemy ships. Not bad for 152 mm guns I'd say. The video is in 3 sections : The first part at 00:00:00 to 00:00:58 shows the ship in the St. Petersburg port, as well as my 10 crewskill captains selected crewskills + the flags and signals hoisted on the ship. The second part at 00:00:59 to 00:18:46 shows the battle as it unfolded. The third and final part from 00:18:47 to 00:22:13 shows all the info from the 4 After-Battle report screens. And as usual for all my WoT and WoWS videos, it is available in 1080p Full HD.

    Alabama - first ingame video

By special permission from St. Petersburg via Vadim (Global Integration manager) and Sergey (Dev lead), I have been granted special permission to publish an Ingame video of the Alabama in action. This is not a general permission to publish videos and details of the Alabama, as it is still under testing and therefore under NDA. Permission to publish this video, is therefore a special case, due to the way the Asia server and its players are regarded by WG - we are NOT the redheaded stepchild, au contraire ;) The Alabama is such a great ship to sail in, even with the red Supertesters only Camouflage mounted.Divisioning up with a couple of clan mates, and then ending up facing another division of clan mates on the opposite team, just makes it more fun - Especially when among the 5 kills, both of the clan mates on the other team are included Dont dismiss the fun of bragging rights and good natured smacktalk on Teamspeak, when you kill a clan mate.As for how to play the Alabama, consider it an Iowa Lite - BUT it still packs a punch, as can be seen in this battle. I can only recommend buying it, when/if it is put up for sale. As usual, available in 1920x1080 full HD and includes the full After Battle Report is included at the end of the video.

    Sink the Alabama ST!

Chappo and I are famous notorious appearently... https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/5kp7nb/and_here_i_thought_i_aint_seeing_a_single/
  4. Mr Seagal, even though he mostly can be rated as a B movie actor these days, still has a large fan base the areas where the largest market for WoWS are. That you can say the connection of him to WoWS is a bit far fetched, considering that his naval experiences stems from one movie, "Under Siege", marketingwise it makes sense, considering his fanbase in China, Japan, and the other far east countries, as well as Russia.

No, this is not funny, WG, why locking my account

Spending money on the game doesn't exempt you from following the rules, which you DID accept to follow when you signed up. Even if it was alledgedly meant as a joke. II'll quote the relevant part here, and I have emphazied the actual violation, which has caused your account being banned by support: As Amade has stated, your only course of action, is to contact support. But there is no guarantee they will reinstate your account. Attempting to sell or buy an account, or stating that you intend to sell or have bought the account, is one of the major violations of the rules. /AALG

Dumb question: what's wrong with sharing accounts

Account SELLING is illegal. When detected, the account will be permanently banned.Up to the person who purchased it, to try and get a refund from the seller. WG will not refund anything. If you read the EULA and Rules, you will see that YOU dont own the account. WG does. You cant sell something you dont own.. Hence when (not if) it is detected, WG takes their property back, from the person who purchased it from a person who wasnt entitled to sell it

Dumb question: what's wrong with sharing accounts

Account sharing is not illegal. It is allowed, but just not reccommended. See the following quoted from the rules http://forum.worldofwarships.asia/index.php?/forum-66/announcement-14-world-of-warships-game-rules/ : I've emphasized the relevant part in red, bold and italic. What it means is if someone does something stupid with your account which you shared with that person, including violating rules, selling all ships, dismissing all captains etc, you are on your own.. You cant get any refund, you cant get it reinstated, you are left with the results of the actions from the person you shared the account with, whatever they are. So, to reiterate - Sharing your account with someone is allowed, not illegal, but NOT recommended. /AALG
  8. Conan is not a moderator, and have never been one. He is WG staff. Moderators are volunteer community contributors. Substituted the Conan entry, with Chappo. Because he was missing, and he deserves to be shot first. Allways. No matter which team he is on. So my first shot went to Chappo.. And for the heck of it, my second shot would also go to Chappo... /AALG
  9. Different servers have different events at different times.
  10. Being a Supertester for WoWS occasionally gives you the possibility to test new ships on the live servers. A legendary ship, one of the first US casualties during that nations participation in WWII, the USS Arizona battleship is currently being tested on the live servers, and it has become one of my "Go to" ships, when I want a ship with durability. I even took it out in Ranked battles, and as this battle shows, it was a wise choice. The battle went badly, all the way to the last 4-5 minutes, with the team far behind in point, even though the team fought valiantly and smart. Yet still we managed to turn it around in the last 5 minutes, to make it a win. Will the Arizona be a ship in my port, upon release ? You bet, definitely buying this premium ship. Result of the battle : 4 ships sunk 116917 damage dealt, 565609 credits earned 9510 XP earned First Blood achievement Dreadnought achievement High Caliber achievement Confederate achievement And a nice warm feeling in the belly after a great fun battle, which could have gone both ways.

    Longest Reigning Monarch!

Cult of Vadim hierachy Vadim = God over WoWS Asia and deity of the Cult of Vadim. Conan = Archbishop appointed by Vadim. Moderators = Spanish Inquisition style enforcers and apostles for the teachings followed in the Cult of Vadim. Supertesters = Evangelists seeking enlightment, and converting heretics to join the Cult of Vadim. Alphatesters = Early converts from other religions, who joined the inner circle of the Cult of Vadim from the beginning. Betatesters = late converts from other religions, hoping to join the innner circle of the Cult of Vadim.
  13. Behaviour in other WG forums and games are taken into account as well. Conan is not just CM for WoWS, but Lead CM for the titles published in the Asia region. So ofcourse he takes everything into account, which he has learned/observed across all the titles he is handling.

    blue line fix

For the record, the devs made some heatmaps over blueline abuse, across the different regional servers - Alas, the problem is a magnitude higher here on the Asia server, compared both to the EU, NA and RU servers. The devs are checking other options to complement / replace the aiming fix. Kraken appearing to devour blueliners, speed reduction, auto pilot control taking over, with no possibility of weaponsfire untill the ship is turned and heading away from the blue line, forcing players to watch Conan cosplay as a submarine on youtube before being able to control their ship again, etc etc etc, are options being looked at. (I have told them that the latter option would actually increase bluelining, but I am not sure they believe me...) I am pretty sure they will come up with a viable solution, in a short timespan (remember, hotfix implementation wont be made. It has to be tested thoroughly, through Supertest as well as a Public Test cycle, before it will be rolled out), which both will negate any advantage of intentional bluelining, as well as will not adversely punish those who due to lack of situational awareness skim the blueline momentarily during a battle - Something I think everybody have or will do at one time or another during the heat of a battle. /AALG
