    My main issue with the format is the emphasis on team play with the inability (due to language barriers and the attitude of some players) to effectively use team play. Extremely frustrating when you do really well but your team falls apart. Maybe change the stars to top 7 players on XP get a star. Players on the winning team get a star. (top 7 + winning team = 2 stars). While the losing team have a star removed. That way a person who gets in the top 7 in XP but on the losing team will get +1 and -1 star so effectively will have no loss of a star. At least then a person who played well but lost is not penalized. I think this would relieve some of the frustration players are having. I'd also limit the tiers even more. I'd start at 3 or 4 then progressively up the tiers to 8 as you move up the ranks. That gets a good range of ships that people can play. Higher tier don't mean more fun. I also think this format would be better If we could choose our teams similar to Team battles in World of Tanks.

    PAX Wargaming Booth Feedback - In depth.

    My personal opinions as a community member are expressed here. they could be complete whale crap. WoWS area was for new players. The whole experience is to give players a taste of the game. It's a marketing event so it's geared towards getting as many new players as possible a go. Being a new game (Sept 17th,about 45 days before PAX) you can't really start to split players between experienced and new. You can't look at it from a beta or alpha testers perspective, they are not the norm you have to look at it from the release date. Hence the focus on PvE and battleships. We found it the simplest way to introduce the game to new players and give as many people a go as possible. Next year the event i suspect will be focused differently because the game and it's community will be that much more matured. This was WoWS first outing as a released game at PAX so lessons will be learned and applied, after action reports and general brainstorming was started the moment we sat down to the first Post-PAX beer. I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone that came along. I had fun and it was good to chat with people about the game.
  4. While I don't think XP an credit should be the same, there should be a bump for PvE. It would bump the playerbase. I'd also like to see a bit of content added to PvE. Maybe like battle re-enactment or a naval scenario like Escort this ship to safety so that it's not just "play against Bots" Some cool PvE content like that would be great especially if you could do it with a team of friends.
  5. Here are a few suggestions I have about the carrier balance problem . Create a longer approach for aircraft before they can drop torps. While they can still manual drop the torps close they will have a longer fly in time enabling players to reduce the number of hits they take. This also mean the carrier player will have to get his timing right to hit a maneuvering target. Currently is very hard to work out when torp bombers are making a run against your ship because they seem to be able to turn on a dime and drop. Improve AA effectiveness on cruisers. If an airgroup gets within the small arms firing range on a crusier they should have to make a wide spread. There should also be less penalty for lower tier cruisers shooting down aircraft from higher tier carriers. This gives lower tier cruiser a more helpful role in a battle if they are setup for AA. Planes aren't tanks, they don't take a hit from anything well. Improve torp damage when it hits the centre of the ship and lower it at either end if it hits unimportant moduals. Make it harder to get a torp hit but when you get it right make it hurt. Allow torp planes a wide/narrow torp spead like DD's. So I can play it safe an drop long and wide to hit the enemy or to break up an enemy fleet formation. Escorted BB's should be a difficult target to get at. Carrier players should have to make a choice between a short drop with a high chance of multiple hits but risking your squad being chewed up by AA VS dropping long and staying out of heavy AA range to preserve your plane but lower the chance of a hit. Conversely un-escorted BB's should be easy kills. The end goal should be powerful carriers, because they are powerful. This should be balanced against strong close in AA. If you drop you torpedoes in close against BB's escorted by a cruiser then you should lose a lot of planes. But you should have the option of dropping long and preserving your aircraft. Dropping long doesn't mean you can't do a lot of damage. Prior to the ability to drop torps short there were a lot of good players using criss-crossing torpedoes to really lay the hammer down on BB's and even Cruisers. Currently good carrier players (an i mean good as in about 20% of them currently)can smash a BB whenever they like with little to no risk. For a DD to ensure that he has to get close and risk being blown out of the water.

    It's also the way they implemented range. Quite often I shoot at water because i know a ship will be there (i just can't see him) instead of my shots landing at the spot I aimed the ALWAYS land Short. Same thing will happen when you switch targets but don't update what ur shooting by hitting "x"

    My issue with carriers is there no balance to them apart from a carrier of the same tier. Cruisers nee to be made more effective (like they were in the alpha) against aircraft. Basically if your a BB protected by a cruiser the only way for the torp planes to hit you with being torn to shreds is by dropping at range. Giving the BB a chance to avoid the worst of the torps. Lone BB's would be still be easy kills (like they should be)

  9. I really like the US DD's. especially how they compare to the japanese. Each nation has a strength and a weakness that allows you to pick what suits you. What i would like to see is a bit of customization within the DD. For the US I'd like to see the option of higher Velocity guns with a slight damage increase or faster firing rate (slower velocity) with the bonus of adding to the AA defense of the ship. The Nickolas has this with the 2 variations in it's gun an I think it should be an option on all US DD's.

    CV's are just stupid. Just get rid of manual drop. Increase the damage that torps do an make us go back the old "crisscross" our torps to hit maneuvering BB's. Hell I'm torping DD's with it an they haven't got a chance to get out of the way.

    After playing a carrier for a bit i have to say they are way broken. But they don't need to be nerfed. The Alt-drop can be use really effectively be a semi competent player Buff cruiser AA and change the AA intensify ability. Torp bombers that get into range of a cruisers short range AA should be forced into the wide spread of torps, making cruiser escort critical for battleships Torp Bombers that are only in range of the long range AA should only use the wide spread if the player of the Cruiser has activated the AA special ability. The battleships can then blame the cruisers for stuffing up if they get owned by a carrier. No need to nerf carriers. If a battleship is dumb enough to go off unprotected it gets torp'ed. A battleship with crusier escort become difficult to get close too so u can drop torps from close range using manual drop.
