Far from it. Protesting is easy; want to do something difficult? Get paid based on your ability to change things measurably for the better, constantly. Earn your living on the basis of that record. Expect to be looking for a new job every year, and expect to have to 'fight' with people to change even when all the available evidence points to that change being the best available choice.

That's what consultants do, at least the individual ones not part of the big consulting businesses which are a whole different story (not really a fan of them and companies pay stupid amounts for the verifiable results they get).

    Haha mate.

Anytime someone posted in (Especially here, Asia forum - Don't ask me why, ask the Ze Blues and Reds) pointed out there's something wrong with the game, the answer is usually the following:
    - Everything in this game is fine
    - The devs is working on it
    - Wait till X.X
    - This is an unfinished game (Despite releasing it and putting more Premium ships in the game faster than regular branches)
    - Get Gud
    - Whining
    - Ungrateful
    - You don't understand the game
    - Etc.
Basically, wherever there's a problem, it's not the game, it MUST be your own issue. None of their business.

Which as you can imagine, is totally healthy for a game that is barely qualified for release and charging people money.
    And for that, good luck.

If i am in that situation, i would slow down, wait for the enemy battleship to open fire, hope that it would miss me. Then quickly build up speed and turn away from him as fast as possible. Or maybe, sometimes you have to take risk and turn because keep sailing straight is likely to be a certain death.

del2000472452 reacted to MissMeMiss in WoWs broken/failed start in Tier 7. (at least for f2p's players)
    The reason :
    1. Teamwork
I always rants about this, sadly, no one care about tactics and teamwork anymore. Everything is spontaneous. Can be good, can be bad. Because sometime, unexpected, you got help by teammate, when you think you are left alone. But sometime, you think you have back up, but teammate leave you for unknown reason, from 5 vs 2, became 1 vs 2. The other 4 teammate just want to go another place. Random Matchmaker, plus matchmaker AI are divide players by skill. Result, good player, or at least, player that had Winning Rate above 50%, will always got bad teammate. To trick this, you have to make your winning rate below 30 % to be matches with good players. Try to kill yourself as much as possible, using TIer 1 ship to make your Winning rate "BAD". 2. Maintenance
Motherfootballer, even Jesus or Zeus can go bankrupt playing this game pass Tier 7. Your ship got destroyed, bet it will be minus credits, or just get around 10,000 credits. Lots of shooting and killing, you think you will get a lot of credits ? WRONG !!! ... Ammunition refill cost gonna be so expensive. Even kill 1 or 2 ship a match single-handed, not helped by anyone, only give you around 50,000 credits. For comparison, I can make above 100,000cr with T6, shoot much, destroy 1 or 2, AND got destroyed, I'm dead. After repair ship and pay ammo-refill, Net income gonna be above 60,000cr. Above Tier 7, you have to play super good, NOT just good, that's not enough. 3. Cowards fest and goodbye Aggressive tactics.
Because of point number 2 Maintenance ... no one want to take risk and die, because barely gain any credits at all. While modules are expensive and next ship Tier 8 prize are around 10,000,000 credits. BB cannon are very effective to kill CA, citadel is above 50% chance. While CA easily burn BB, to the state of 3 burn status. Both BB and CA are fearing each other, not to mention facing their own class. IJN Destroyer torpedo are very deadly. It fast travel, high damage, faster reload, long range, and the ship's concealment are good. Fubuki's IJN DD T8, is terrifying versus CA & BB. IJN CV's Striker Set. 72 planes, 6 squadron to control, each squadron had 3 spare squad. No need fear your planes getting shot down, as you have lots before it will wipe out completely. BB, CA and DD need to watch their movement. IJN CA's HE shell, can burn you so easily, while USN and KM, must relied on AP. But fighting BB, USN and KM's CA are less effective than IJN's CA. The result of this, both are just circling around in the back. Naive people like me who just graduated from TIer 6, will the first to die and die and die again. Why ? because we T7 noobs, must abandon our Aggressive behavior/style that we used many times and pride of it, from T1-T6. In T7, you have to be cowards. Losing is not problem at all. The problem are if you got destroyed. 4. Brutal Matchmaking system
As Tier 7, I will have to face Tier 9, 8, 7, 6, 5. But, on my experience, I got draw more to Tier 7-8-9 match than tier 5-6-7 matches. Like 80% I'm gonna enter high Tier battle. Means, I will die more and more and more, and losing credits more and more and more.
When I wrote this ... I'm in rage, but try to be civil as I could. Again, I think this game are broken pass Tier 7. It's not a game anymore, and It's like Forex Trading. Why ?
In Forex Trading, when you gain something, mean someone out there are losing something. In this game, when you losing credits, means your killers will be the one who gain it.

I am but 1 from (+/-) 20.000 players in Asia server. But, I think I'm gonna refuse playing Tier 7, stop play it after writing this post. I will play Tier 7, if WG change the maintenance and refill cost rate of T7 and above. I hope you reader, should stop playing T7 and above, make those match are harder to find adequate players. Voice your objection to WG, because of that decision making Maintenance very expensive. But if you do love paying that much ... then go, go play it, pay as much as you love to pay those silly number of maintenance and refill cost.

For me, I better play other games than had to play this game with income 10,000/match.
Good thing are, only my USN's reach Tier 6. IJN's and SN still T5-T4. Once all ship reach T6, it will be my finish line.
"But MissMeMiss, you can grinding credits with Tier 6 ?" ... answer = So I have to leveling Tier 7 ship to unlock it's module, then have to find credits with T6 ship ? It's a double works to upgrade a ship.
"MissMeMiss, you have to play better, not die and hit as much, kill as much" ... answer = with this kind of cowards team I always get ? ... Enemy also cowards. What good tactic in Cowards vs Cowards ?

What I'm wrote above, doesn't related to ARP's events. This condition will always goes on even pass 29.Feb.2016

del2000472452 reacted to Sparcie in Battleships not playing well on test server
I agree that the environment is pretty hostile to new posters let alone new players, I know a few players who thought they might post about particular things but reconsidered after seeing the hostility.

This thread was meant to be for people to relate their experiences on the test server with BBs (mine wasn't great maybe yours was better), since that's finishing (public testing anyway) it can't serve that purpose and it has been derailed quite severely.

I understand why new people are reluctant to participate here, not just because of this thread but others I've seen. Luckily that won't stop people from playing, but it could very well ruin the future of the community.

I guess what we could do as a group is point out how the offender could behave better when it happens and tell them we don't appreciate it. It isn't just testers who do it, and nobody is perfect. It needs to apply to anyone. Although I have noticed that on many threads a large percentage of people participating have some kind of tester status. So not really any new people on the forum?

Anyhow, this thread isn't the place to discuss anything like that (or this business mentioned above), so if you'd like to continue that discussion please start an appropriate thread and could a moderator please lock this.

del2000472452 reacted to EvyL in the BB-65 design studies
Note that this ain't the cancelled Iowa class USS Illinois which also had the designation of BB-65.

    I miss BSing this place.

I didn't get an in-depth bit of this since I need the books on em and I'm a poor smuck, I kinda started digging around the weird parts of this "BB-65-2" iteration that was slated back at pre-alpha in NA three years ago as a faster Montana with a variable set of guns. Apparently, it wasn't just to end with Iowa since there were more scarier ships in the Asia Pacific with Japan allegedly having a really souped up battleship which they had little data of and the Battleship Committee started romping about in the design drawing board with newer ships and the Montana was one of the soon iterations, strange yet interesting iterations.

I PRESENT TO YOU THE BB-65 DESIGN STUDIES.

Behold, glorious battleship design studies. The early iterations are of the 1939 plans however and BB-67 is the slotting for the Montana where BB-67-1 was selected as the final draft if I remember it right.

There should have been the limits for ship building such as canal width limitations and the escalation clause in the Second London Naval treaty where if anyone breached the treaty and the amendments it was laid in stone and ratified, then they could, by virtue of someone breaking that, bend the limits as to match the opposing ships. The North Carolinas and South Dakotas were already being drafted and keeled and so were the Iowas at the early point and they wanted to make an upstep for some of the ships that would come out that could match anything they faced in the water. One such particulars were the Iowas which were, at the time, the most modern ships stepped and this is not accounting to them wanting bigger and meaner battleships which could have culminated to the Montana and probably be upgunned as well.

Here's one of the iterations with their profile.

One of the likely defining features of these BB-65's of the 1939-1941 iterations would be the strength of their powerplants as well as the superstructure and layout arrangement, two of which was a single large funnel rather than the two found on the North Carolinas and Iowas as well as the forecastle and foremast arrangement. Well, even there were prospects of them being wanted to be upgunned with bigger guns for that matter but some of the iterations were heavy as they were projected and had the max speed of about 27-28 knots at most they could crunch but would compensate for the sheer volume of 16 inch guns they were to have. Don't get me started on the Tillmann 'maximum battleships' because those were impractical as hell and could not fit into a canal lock such as the Suez or the Panama although the standing limit by then from what I can remember was chucking in the said canal width limit to their calculations.

If my brain hasn't rusted yet, THIS thing was also taken into account for future battleship designs including the BB-65 prospects and yes, that is an American 18 inch gun.

Interesting part is that the slated BB-65 scheme back then that was good for a tier 10 was the scheme 2 of the 1940 study which is likely why the BB-65-2 was projected as a viable tier 10 and I think it should be impressive for its day. It can churn speeds reaching 33 knots, is protected with 5.5 inches of deck and about 15 inches of belt with the same improved Mark 7/50 16 inch guns the Iowas were to start lugging around with a so-called "heavy shell" which should punch through the thickest theorized armor they could crunch along with several 6 inch secondaries. In all retrospects, this should throw off the spike for an improved Iowa since the armor was lessened so that the ship could output more speed but if in any case, this should be a sound thing to duly note. Its Japanese paper counterpart would be the Number 13 battleship and even on paper it should have been fairly marginal in terms of soft stats ever drafted to paper but to be fair, the No. 13 was to be fitted with 18 inch guns as well.

As a tier 10, it would fit a niche to the battleship split I've been advocating as well. the Colorado will remain as the jump-off point for the transition in tier 7 because she was the last dread the US ever made, the tier 9 for the 'heavy battleship' line would be South Dakota and tier 10 would be the BB-67-1 herself, the Montana.
The 'fast battleships' would likely slate tier 6 for the Alaska large cruiser or its CA-2D upgrade the "Super Alaska" (as I have said in the post here for Alaska, she's not gonna survive anything over 12 inch guns which makes it likely the CA-2D juicing her up to battleship grade a more sane thought), tier 7 for the Lexington/Constellation battlecruiser that's reformatted to fast battleship as an upgrade, merging back to tier 8 for North Carolina, tier 9 for Iowa and the BB-65-2 (although to name her, I guess they could just name her as Illinois as well. In all fairness, BB-65 was also her pennant) as the tier 10. This is just me brainfarting so hard so if you have any musings about it, do tell.

del2000472452 reacted to Steeltrap in todays RANT
It's not as though he doesn't have a point.

The trouble is if it were more realistic then BBs would rule everything until CVs show up.

They are the most stable gunnery platforms with the most advanced radar/gunnery control suites the nation can produce.
They have the most destructive weaponry with the greatest range.
They are the most heavily protected, and most able to cope with battle damage.

That is WHY they were built in the first place.

Now WG wants everyone to be able to be effective against everyone else, a design choice frankly I think they ought to limit; watching a DD destroy a BB using sub-6" weapons just makes me want to strangle someone at WG. At the very least I think the SEVERITY of a fire, either in terms of the damage it does per second OR how long it lasts, at least should be linked to the weapon that caused it. Is anyone really saying a 5.25" gun causes the same blast and hence fire potential as a 16" HC shell?

If they have to limit numbers of BBs in battles as they have CVs, so be it.

But who are we kidding? They're not going to do it. They want a yippee shoot the average brainless muppet can play easily and have fun.
God knows that's the most charitable explanation I can think of for the last 2 battles I tried after not playing for 2.5 weeks. After those appalling displays of massed uselessness on my team (I myself did OK, with ~53k damage in a tier 5 battle in my Iwaki A, for example, but the battle results weren't even close...lost one of them 1,000 > 70), I concluded I've had enough.

The simplistic mechanics along with a pile of clowns who seem to have no idea as to those mechanics or the concept of playing to win have defeated me.

World of Tanks、World of Warships

So, as i'm sure you've failed to notice, i've been away for quite some time recently , six weeks to be exact, but more than that from this forum, because WG.net.

Where was i? Well, nominally, i was on a 'vacation', if i could call it that.... basically i was expected to make use of my leave in order to ensure that certain construction work going on in one of our estates turned out properly. So, my vacation took me to Garhwal, in the Himalayan foothills, a region of which i am a native and where my extended family is still very strongly tied to.
My job was to ensure that the new greenhouse sheds being erected at an orchard were up before the snow was on the ground. Since the location of the plantation is rather remote and there exists no motorable road, all goods must be transported by carrying them on your back.
The long bars which made up the frame, the plexi-glass sheets and all the assembly materiel had to carried by porters and ponies hired on a daily-wage basis from the nearby town to the place where the greenhouses were to be erected.
As the various loads were being hauled on backs,  i didn't want to be seen in this crowd as a lazy city-slicker given over to sedentarism (most of my life has been spent in military cantonments far away from urban or semi-urban areas). I decided therefore that i'd carry part of the load myself along the way.
I borrowed a long, metal-reinforced stick of bamboo with grooves on wither end from one of the porters. There were four crates of nut and bolts to be carried, so i broke them into two pairs, and roped them into the grooves on either end of the stick and carried it across my shoulders as we trekked through the countryside to the construction spot.

Now,  i've been a long-time player of WoT (since 2011) and have followed WoWs through most of its early development, though i have more recenlty distanced myself from both games and have given over my in-game account to a family member still interested in WoWs.

So, carrying four boxes on my shoulders, walking through the rugged and green Himalayan landscape in the midst of birdsong and constantly buffeted by cold winds, i suddenly realised my condition.

It doesn't matter how far i go from WoT and WoWs.
It doesn't matter if i am 500Km and a full day of travel away from my computer.
It doesn't matter if this a remote and sparsely populated region where Internet is till no better than 256kbps or GPRS.
I am still forced to carry  ■ ■ ■ ■  if i want success and prestige.

The more you play of World of Warships, the more you realize that Wargaming.net has managed to create something very special here. And i'm entirely serious here. When what is a very popular series of GPU's refused to obey the will of the devs and run WoWs, the maker of the said insubordinates repented and released drivers to make good! You don't get much more 'Street Cred' than that, do you?

To move ahead, have you heard of the V.I. Lenin Ch.N.P.P. Even if you haven't don't worry. Stuff from over there is possible already embedded into almost everything you've encountered in your life. You know, just like WG.net has embedded itself?
Now while WoWs is considerably better designed than the RBMK-1000's used over there (in retrospect), it has been implied that the amount of lethal radiation given off by the Big World engine far exceeds that measured above Ch.N.P.P.

The ones who worked in the cleanup following the Ch.N.P.P. incident- the emergency response personnel, the liquidators and the eventual caretakers of the surround who, for pop-culture reference like to call themselves 'Stalkers' (the movie/ 'Roadside Picnic') were courageous and dutiful, whom for some reason, don't really feature too often in discourse, but well, why look that far when we have our own SEA-biscuits to look up to.

Into this maelstrom of radiation, bias and micro-stuttering boldly march forward, our SuperTesters! (as styled correctly)
With great pride, they play the game for you in advance so that they may find bugs in the game and help its release state to reach a high level of balance and lack of bugs. In adddition to this hard work for which they have selflessly volunteered for by requesting their friends employed by WG to be allowed, they will also help you steer your opinions of WoWs and of WG.net as a whole to the correct course.

Not only do these people, the bold and the daring, suffer the privations and injuries that are involved in testing an as yet unfinished and poorly balanced game which has attained full release, but they also send messages from withing the maelstorm of these tests! Messages of the tiding of war and of unresolvable bugs, which are then purged.

Fellow comrades in free-loading! Will you just grind on with you sub-50% WR and do nothing to support these Bravehearts! Will you not support the efforts of these morally upright individuals?!?!
Nay, for you must align your goals to theirs, and to the greater goals of WG.net! For it is in there that the Greater Good lies, comrades!
You must break open the savings-bank with the flames of your card, and with your own hands, you must purchase the Doubloons, so that for one more day bread and cheese and small comfort may arrive in the houses of those that work for the Greater Good!

This eulogy was NOT sponsored by WG.net, but was created and published at the tacit necessity of adequately accrediting our beloved SuperTesters!
Let these unnoticed souls bask in what small glory may be showered by these mere words. In their modesty, they may shy away from your praise, but shower praise on them comrades, shower it on them and ignore the seasons!
