    Warspite being removed

Nope...If you'd read my original post here, I had been planning on buying it after next pay (I hadn't had funds available previously), but had i known a specific date with more than 48hrs warning, I would have been able to arrange something. And so my complaint about the lack of accurate, timely, and SPECIFIC information (ie a news item solely about the removal, not hidded in patch notes...you know, like the e25 removal in WoT, etc.). Of course, all the replies I have seen have completely ignored my point in favour of rehashing exactly the issues I've been complaining about.

A minute reading, and an hour or more searching? I realise the information was published...never said it wasn't. My complaint is that it was so spread out, and most at very short notice. But of course, it's much easier just to say it was published in small fragments widely distributed than to address the point about a lack of specific information with a degree of fore-warning. It's strange how far fan-boys will go to ignore someone's point of view when they can just try and bring up items that have already been used to illustrate the point they are arguing against...

So, your SPECIFIC, and FRONT-AND-CENTRE example I requested is the combination of: 28/4 - Warspite introduction stating it will be available until the end of closed beta (yes, quite a specific date) 2/7 news post stating Open beta starts on 2/7 - much warning, long notice period. Also, such prominence made to removal of items in post, isn't there... 6/7 post for a new patch to be released in < 24h, hidden within (ie: no visible without opening post) there is mention of removal of ship. So, to go back to my request, none of which these "examples" met the criteria for: On a side note, it's sad to see WG can't even get the correct date format on their news page...What's with the month\day\year formatting?

Now I'm curious...I've never denied the fact that information was available...The point I am trying to make, and which so many fan-boys seem so eager to avoid responding to, is that the information was never supplied front-and-center, but always hidden away. If you can supply an example of where WG have made the information regarding the removal of the ship the central point of an article on this site, It would certainly be of interest. All I've seen so far presented as evidence is exactly the thing I'm complaining about - no official notice provided unless it is buried inside other posts as an afterthought, or vague rumours floating through forums. So, as a challenge, prove me wrong with a post by WG, more than 48hrs before removal of the warspite, where the removal is the sole topic of the post, and supplying the specific date that the removal will occur...None of this "it was in patch notes" (which coincidentaly only appeared 24hrs pre patch) or forum posts where people are speculating about it...Otherwise my point stands regarding WG's lack of respect for their clients.

Oh, but I have gained from this experience...thanks to kongmann's comment about my playing ability, I've decided to try and communicate with players in battles next to the one I'm in by getting as close to the blue line as I can...It's certainly made the game so much more enjoyable (It was even more fun in my sims just then...top tier, too). As to the removal of the warspite: I'm sure that there's more than 5/1000 players who don't read every post from WG, instead only focussing on ones that have meaning to them...I'd guess it's more like 5/1000 who read ANY of the posts, much like it's probably only 5/1000 (or less) who bother with the forums. I've also managed to save myself quite a bit of money (based on past WoT spending) thanks to this...Plus found quite a lot of helpful people to look for in-game to provide close support if I'm ever on their teams. Maybe by sailing across their bows to ensure that no high waves hit them.

OK, I'll accept your point that it's not my fault WG failed to make a specific post to indicate the removal of the only British ship in the game, nor that they only provided approximately 24hrs OFFICIAL notice via a news post in which it was buried. Not everyone has the abundant free time, as I've been trying to get through here, to be able to trawl every post, nor read every forum post to try and find accurate information...Nice of you to understand the point I've been making.

Oh, I keep up-to-date on the news (I need to for work)...So yes, I'm aware that Greece has discovered the problem with socialism: It's all good until you run out of access to other people's money. This is a game, and so of low importance: hence not being able to access site or game on day the HUGE patch was announced where they removed the warspite, and thanks to the superb level of communication, the next day, when I got a chance to log on, I find that the ship is removed. At least with WoT, they have the courtesy to give people more than 1 day's warning regarding the removal of items from the game, and make sure it is announced as a seperate item, not buried in a post as an afterthought (not that my opinion of certain staff there is any higher than those here).

I never said I didn't like the GAME...it's the producers and their treatment of potential (and actual) customers that I have been expressing concerns about. In fact, I might just go sailing down the blue line now to see what it is that makes people do it so much.

Oh no....I'll still be there. And just for you, I'll see how badly I can aim if I ever have the misfortune to be on your team

On a side note...I happened to not be able to log onto the game the day before the patch...And strangely enough, that was the day they gave the hidden notice of the removal: 24hrs notice, mid-week when a number of people can't play...Such great communication with their customers, don't you think?

I'm not too worried now...As I mentioned earlier, my gaming funds are now being re-directed towards other products. On the plus side, I've now had a great chance to experience how badly fan-boys will defend their favourite game, rather than try and understand an outsiders point of view.

Yes, I am a "Beta tester" as you so obviously indicated...But after being intentionallly screwed over with regards to Alpha testing [1] I decided I'd buy a premium ship and use it as early access. This being the case, the onus was not on me to be expected to read every post as you stated, and I'm sure you'll probably find quite a high percentage of people in the beta also didn't read those posts. I will say though, that it is refreshing to see so many people responding to what I say with posts that completely ignore the reasoning I'm displaying in favour of their own pre-conceived WG fanboy thinking...Makes me glad I generally don't have time to look at the forums. [1] After receiving an alpha invite, I wasted several months trying to get the actual alpha access WG promised, only to be given incorrect information, being passed from area to area in order to find anyone who could actually correct the problem, then being ignored when I finally got to the correct person, it has certainly altered my opinion of the developers and their community "support".

And in the same line of reasoning: If WG think that the removal of a ship will impact on players interest in it, it's their responsibility to let people know clearly, without requiring them to read through every post...Why should I have to waste what little gaming time I have available to me to trawl through a load of pages that, based on past experience, have no interest to me. Of course, if you want to sit on your high horse, and blame others for not having the abundant free time some here do to constantly read through forums and look at every news post, then so be it. Some of us actually have lives that don't allow that sort of wasted time.
  14. Brictoria

    Blue line cheats

Probably a stupid suggestion, but still: Why not have the blue line force the ship to turn so it is running at whatever speed is set, but turned parallel to the line (basically a forced turn, rather than a sliding, sideways movement) with the ship being unable to be steered towards the line when closer than some unspecified distance (maybe with an area between edge and this line where turning occurs, rather than on the line, and probably ship dependent, based on maximum speed and turning circle size.)? This way, it would act simply as a ship turning in open water, having no effect on players ship hp, nor on enemy targeting (outside of standard ship maneuvering style of movement of target), preventing exploit by unethical players, while also avoiding penalizing accidental or forced actions (rudder damaged, for example). Of course, this would also force ships approaching the corner of the map to turn to follow the next side, too, as there would be no way for a ship to be wedged in the corner.

OK...In simple terms in plain english to make it slightly harder for the intentional misrepresentation of what I am saying.... Q: Was there a specific news item regarding removal? A: No Q: Did you need to open patch notes in order to see mention of removal, or was it visible without opening specific page? A: Needed to open specific news item Q: Could someone who uses just the launcher have seen the forum posts? A: No Q: Outside the ambiguous mention in a news item a month or so ago, was there ANY official mention on news pages? A: No. Therefore, only a small quantity of the server population was truly in possesion of the details regarding the removal, with a majority of players not being communicated to in an effective way regarding this. True, many players probably didn't care, but there would be some, like myself who DO NOT have the time to be able to spend trawling forums or opening every news post in the hope that just once there would be a tiny bit of information of interest to them amongst the deluge of "noise" contained in the post. Or, to put it another way: If you never went to the WoWs site (including forum) and logged into game via launcher, opening a news post only if it specifically referred to an item of interest (rather than general posts like patch notes), was there ANY WAY that you would have known about the removal of the ship in the last patch?
